i'm not a real runner....

i just play one in real life......
ok, so all my life i have told myself i couldn't run. it hurt my knees, it hurt my ankles, ect, ect.
i don't know what happened but in the last year or two i have really had a hankering to run.  i really, really want to be a runner. sooooo.  this fall i decided that over the winter i would train for a 5k, which evolved into training for a 10k.
i know, i know.  your looking at me really weird, aren't you?  how do you go from not running to wanting to run a 10k.  i think you have to be part crazy.
i found the 'couch to 5k' program on the internet.  it looked totally doable!  it starts you off walking with short sprints of jogging and slowly builds from there.  it looked so easy i said to myself, "self, if you can train for a  5k why not a 10k?"  it is only @3 miles longer. not so much.
so i started looking for an easy to use program.  yes, there' an APP for that!  isn't there an app for everything?
i chose the 'couch to 10k' app from itunes and i really like it!  it is a no brainer.  you just press the start button and it tells you when to run, when to walk, all you have to do is increase and decrease the speed on your treadmill.  i am still waiting for the weather to get good enough to run outside.  yes i know that some people run outside, rain, snow, whatever but i 'm so not there yet.
i will have to say that running is addictive.  it is a love hate relationship. there are times when i run that i hate it and there are times i feel like i  could go forever.  there are times when i am not running that i crave it!  such a strange feeling for me.
anyway that is my running career so far.  hoping to be ready for a race this spring.
gotta run!

snow

snow...

this one word brings many feelings and pictures to your mind.  warm fuzzy feelings, cozy fire, knitted mittens hung by said fire. snow ball fights, snowmen.  soft snowflakes floating down lazely from the sky.
ah, snow,

WHERE IS IT????????
sorry i had to get that out of my system.  i am so missing the snow!
no snow for christmas.  that so kills the christmas spirit.
and now it is the second week in january and no snow.
so, you ask, where are all these snow pictures from?
my garden, in october.

yes, in october we recieved almost 2 feet of snow.

i love these pictures from the garden, i really do, but this is the only snow we have recieved and it is wearing on me.
i need snow.  i crave snow.  okay i think the men in the white coats just showed up.
i will quite ranting and raving because i know you people think i am crazy.
i hope you are warm and cozy wherever you are.

                               enjoy,
